Dr. H.E. "Buddy" Payne Jr.

• Dr. Payne’s formal education:
  • AA: Florida College
  • BS in Chemistry Education: Florida State University
  • MAT in Science Education: Harvard University
  • PH.D. Mathematics Education: University of South Florida
• Dr. Payne has worked with Florida College since 1972 as professor of Chemistry and Mathematics, served as Registrar, Dean of Students, Vice President, and Academic Dean. In 2009 he was appointed the fifth president of the college and served until June 2022. He now serves as Chancellor of the college.
• He has spent much time studying and lecturing on this topic on college campuses over the last sixty years.
• Brother Payne and his wife Marilyn have four children, and sixteen grandchildren.
• Brother Payne serves as an elder at the Livingston Avenue church.
